Pori Old Town Hall

Pori Old Town Hall, completed in 1841 and designed by German architect Carl Ludvig Engel, is a stunning example of Neoclassical architecture in Pori, Finland. Remarkably, it survived the devastating fire of 1852, with only its clock tower being lost and later rebuilt in 1891. The building features a pediment inscribed with 'Curia Arctopolis,' reflecting the city's historical roots. Once serving as the city government hub until 1961, it now houses the city tourist office and a restaurant located in the former city jail. A statue honoring John III of Sweden, the founder of Pori, was unveiled in 2008, adding to the site's historical significance and charm for visitors.
