Garcia Opera House

The Garcia Opera House, located at the intersection of Terry Ave. and California St. in Socorro, New Mexico, is a historic venue built in 1886. Although it was originally intended to host opera performances, there are no records of any opera companies performing there. Instead, the venue became a hub for traveling theatre performances, masked balls, and various community events. It was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers interested in the cultural history of the region.
