Ruins and wartime structures at Magnuson Park (former Naval Air Station Sand Point)

Magnuson Park occupies the former Naval Air Station Sand Point and contains surviving military-era structures such as concrete hangar foundations, ramps and other veteran-era infrastructure. The air station was established in the early 20th century and much of the site was transferred to the City of Seattle for park use beginning in the 1970s; several original structures remain as visible remnants. The park interprets and repurposes these former military facilities within its open-space layout.
