Strichen Town House

Strichen Town House, located in the heart of Strichen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is a stunning example of early 19th-century architecture, designed by John Smith in a blend of Tudor and neoclassical styles. Commissioned by Thomas Fraser, 12th Lord Lovat, the building was completed in 1816 and features a distinctive asymmetrical facade with a striking tower and a belfry. Originally serving as the meeting place for the Strichen Parish Council, it has a rich history, including its transformation into a girls' school in 1875 and the addition of a war memorial in 1920. Today, the Strichen Town House Trust is working to restore and repurpose this Category A listed building as a community hub, making it a focal point for both locals and visitors interested in the town's heritage.
