Walter Keene House

The Walter Keene House, located at 28 High Street in Stoneham, Massachusetts, is a historic 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame building constructed around 1900. This house is a notable example of a transitional Queen Anne-Colonial Revival architectural style, featuring a hip roof and front porch typical of Colonial Revival, alongside a left-side turret and decorative turned posts characteristic of Queen Anne design. Built for Walter Keene, a prominent local shoe salesman and banker, the house reflects his significant contributions to the area's development, with Keene Street named in his honor. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
