The "San Antonio Four" wrongful conviction case

In the 1990s four Latina women were convicted in Bexar County of sexually abusing two children amid allegations of satanic ritual abuse; the prosecutions and convictions later drew national attention and criticism from advocates who argued they were wrongful. Subsequent scientific evidence reviews and legal petitions called aspects of the prosecutions into question, and motions and hearings in later years led to some convictions being vacated or retrials being ordered. The original prosecutions and many of the court hearings took place at the Bexar County Courthouse. The case is frequently cited in discussions about coerced testimony and wrongful convictions.
