Wincopia Farms

Wincopia Farms, a historic site in North Laurel, Maryland, was once a thriving 124-acre farm operated by the Hearn family until 2010. Known for raising poinsettias for prestigious clients like the White House, the farm's history is marked by a tragic carjacking incident in 1992 that led to the creation of the Federal Anti-Car Theft Act. Despite its rich agricultural legacy, the farm faced financial struggles, culminating in foreclosure and development into a residential area with plans for 220 homes. Visitors to the area can appreciate the scenic Gorman Road, which was designated as a scenic route, although it underwent significant changes during the development process.
