19 and 21 Micklegate is a historic building located in the heart of York, England, showcasing architectural evolution from the late 15th century to the 19th century. Originally constructed as a timber-framed structure, it features a blend of styles due to various renovations, including a brick and stucco front added in the early 18th century. The building retains much of its original timber framing and includes significant interior elements like a 15th-century roof and original floor joists. Once part of a larger complex, it was partially demolished in 1966. Today, the ground floor houses a bookshop operated by Amnesty International, making it a unique stop for visitors interested in history and literature.
