Ballou & Wright Company Building

The Ballou & Wright Company Building, located at 327 NW 10th Avenue in Downtown Portland, Oregon, is a historic five-story warehouse completed in 1921 and recognized for its architectural significance. Designed by Sutton & Whitney, it features a distinctive sand grey brick exterior and unique detailing, including a square corner sprinkling tank and an elevator tower. Originally serving as a hub for the Ballou & Wright Company, which evolved from a bicycle dealer to a leading wholesaler of motorcycles and automobile parts in the northwest, the building reflects the rapid growth of the early 20th-century transportation industry. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in Portland's industrial history.
