Bellevue-Stratford Hotel (The Bellevue)

The Bellevue, originally opened as the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel in 1904, was built as a grand Center City hotel and is noted for its Beaux-Arts architecture. In 1976 the hotel was the site of the Legionnaires' disease outbreak during an American Legion convention, a major event in the history of public health and epidemiology. The building has since been redeveloped and remains a prominent landmark on Broad Street.
