Makarpura Palace

Makarpura Palace, located in Vadodara, Gujarat, is a stunning example of Italian Renaissance architecture built in 1870 by Maharaja Khende Rao. Once a summer residence and hunting resort for the Gaekwads of Baroda, the palace features a three-storey structure with ornate brick rooms, frame-arch balconies, and a beautiful Japanese-style garden spanning 130 acres. The palace has historical significance as it was renovated by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III and served as a training school for the Indian Air Force. Although currently in a dilapidated state, the palace's rich history and architectural beauty make it an intriguing site for tourists and researchers alike.
