Jovan Cvijić House

Located in Belgrade, Serbia, the Jovan Cvijić House is a historical building constructed in 1905, originally part of a garden belonging to Mitropolit Mihailo. This modest yet architecturally significant house reflects the typical style of early 20th-century Belgrade, designed by the renowned scientist Jovan Cvijić himself. The interior showcases eclectic elements with neo-renaissance influences, featuring unique painted decorations by artist Dragutin Inkiostri Medenjak, inspired by the landscapes of the Balkan Peninsula. Since 1967, the house has served as a Memorial Museum, housing nearly 1,500 artifacts related to Cvijić's life and work, including personal belongings and ethnographic collections. A marble plaque commemorates its cultural significance, marking it as a site of great historical importance.
