Cooroora Masonic Temple

The Cooroora Masonic Temple, built in 1923 and located in Pomona, Queensland, is a heritage-listed site that reflects the rich history of Freemasonry in the region. Originally serving as a meeting place for local Masons, the temple features unique trompe l'oeil murals created by a local artist, which depict significant Masonic symbols and architecture. The building, characterized by its timber frame and gabled roof, is situated near the Pomona railway station and has been a part of the community's cultural fabric since its establishment. Although the lodge faced declining membership and was sold in 2005, the temple remains a testament to the early 20th-century development of Pomona and is recognized for its historical significance, having been added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 2003.
