Flamingo Las Vegas (original 1946 resort)

The Flamingo Hotel opened in December 1946 and is one of the earliest luxury resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. The project is historically associated with mob figure Benjamin 'Bugsy' Siegel and marked a shift toward upscale, themed resort infrastructure on the Strip. The Flamingo's original development introduced large-scale hotel-casino construction and landscaped grounds that influenced later Strip resorts.
