Prometheus at Rockefeller Center

Prometheus is a gilded bronze sculpture by Paul Manship installed above the Lower Plaza at Rockefeller Center in 1934. The figure, showing the Titan bringing fire to humanity, sits above the ice rink and is oriented toward Fifth Avenue. The work was produced during the construction of the Rockefeller Center complex and remains a central public artwork on the plaza.
