Binion's Horseshoe - origin site of the World Series of Poker

Binion's Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas hosted the first World Series of Poker (WSOP) events beginning in 1970 after Benny Binion invited top players to compete. The WSOP grew at Binion's through the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s before the tournament series moved to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in 2005. Binion's remains a functioning casino and is historically associated with the origins of modern tournament poker.
