USS Blueback (SS-581) at OMSI

USS Blueback (SS-581) is the last non-nuclear submarine to serve in the U.S. Navy and has been preserved as a museum vessel at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland since 2002. The submarine is berthed on the Willamette River adjacent to OMSI and is open to public tours seasonally, documenting Cold War-era submarine design and operations. Its preservation at OMSI makes it a tangible maritime and military artifact accessible in the city.
