Attempted assassination of President Truman - arrest of Oscar Collazo

On November 1, 1950, Puerto Rican nationalists Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola attempted to assassinate President Harry S. Truman at Blair House while Truman was residing there during White House renovations. Torresola was killed by law enforcement at the scene; Collazo was shot, subdued, and arrested on the Blair House grounds. Collazo was subsequently charged and convicted in federal court for his role in the attack.
