Fisher Fine Arts Library (Frank Furness design)

The Fisher Fine Arts Library at the University of Pennsylvania was designed by architect Frank Furness and completed in the 1890s; it is noted for its bold Victorian Gothic composition, polychrome brickwork, and rich iron ornamentation. The building originally housed Penn's library and art collections and continues to serve as the university's fine arts library and a study center. Architectural historians consider it one of Furness's most important works and a distinctive example of late-19th-century American academic architecture.
