Mafia Commission Trial (Southern District of New York)

The 1985–1986 Mafia Commission Trial was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York and tried in the federal courthouse at 500 Pearl Street. The trial resulted in convictions of several New York Mafia bosses under RICO statutes and represented a major federal effort to dismantle organized crime families. Rudolph Giuliani, then U.S. Attorney, led the prosecution in the case. The convictions significantly disrupted organized crime operations in New York City.
