Independence Seaport Museum and the USS Olympia

The Independence Seaport Museum at Penn's Landing (which preserves the museum ship USS Olympia) is often included on Philadelphia ghost tours and has been the subject of anecdotal reports of unexplained sounds and sightings aboard the historic vessels and around the museum. The USS Olympia (C-6) is a preserved 1892 cruiser berthed with the museum at the Delaware River waterfront, and visitors and paranormal groups have periodically reported unusual experiences there. These accounts are part of local folklore and tourism programming and are not scientifically verified.
