Gardencourt

Gardencourt is a historic house located in Narragansett, Rhode Island, designed by architect William Gibbons Preston in the Shingle style for businessman Charles E. Pope in 1888. This unique structure features a first floor made of large fieldstone and a wood-frame shingled second floor, topped with a gabled roof that includes a distinctive eyebrow window. Although originally part of a larger design concept, only Gardencourt was completed, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Today, it is surrounded by the Gibson Court condominium complex, which was built in 1987, offering a glimpse into the architectural history of the area.
