Hotel Dajti

Hotel Dajti, located near Rinia Park in central Tirana, Albania, is a historic hotel named after the nearby Dajti Mountain. Built in the 1930s by Italian architect Gherardo Bosio, it was a key venue for international visitors during Albania's socialist era, notorious for its surveillance practices. Recognized as a protected cultural monument in 2002, it hosted the Tirana International Contemporary Art Biennale in 2009. The hotel was controversially purchased by the Bank of Albania in 2010 for €30 million, raising concerns about financial transparency. Today, it remains a significant landmark in Tirana's architectural and cultural landscape.
