Dartmouth Friary

Dartmouth Friary, founded in 1331 in Devon, England, was an Augustinian friary that faced numerous challenges, including opposition from local church authorities and legal disputes over land ownership. Despite initial hopes for a new church to serve the local population, the friary struggled to gain recognition and ultimately ceased operations in 1347. The site later became home to St Saviour's Church, a Grade I listed building, which incorporates elements from the original friary structure.
