Villa Virginia

Villa Virginia is a historic country estate located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, built between 1914 and 1915. It exemplifies Renaissance Revival architecture and is one of the last grand Berkshire Cottages. The estate spans over 50 acres and features a landscape designed by Ferruccio Vitale, including a lily pond and walled garden. Originally part of a gentleman's farm, it has a rich history, including performances by Isadora Duncan. After falling into disrepair, it was restored by Kazys Varnelis, who used it as a home and private gallery until 1998. The estate was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, making it a significant site for tourists and researchers interested in architectural history and the cultural heritage of the Berkshires.
