Hunting Baths

The Hunting Baths are an ancient Roman bath complex located in Leptis Magna, Libya, built during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus. Remarkably preserved due to being buried under sand dunes, this complex features a linear layout inspired by the Baths of Titus, with a series of rooms including a cold room, warm room, and hot rooms, all designed to maximize sunlight for heating. The baths are adorned with colorful stone decorations and frescoes, including a notable depiction of a leopard hunt, which gives the baths their nickname.
