Former Central Magistracy

The Former Central Magistracy, located at 1 Arbuthnot Road in Central, Hong Kong, is a historic building constructed between 1913 and 1914. Originally the site of the first Hong Kong Magistracy, the current structure showcases impressive Greek-revival architecture with grand pillars and granite retaining walls. After its closure in 1979, it has been transformed into a vibrant cultural and shopping hub known as Tai Kwun, which also includes the former Central Police Station and Victoria Prison. This site offers visitors a glimpse into Hong Kong's legal history and architectural heritage.
