Milam Building

The Milam Building is a historic 21-story high-rise located in downtown San Antonio, Texas, completed in 1928. Once the tallest building in the city and the first high-rise air-conditioned office building in the United States, it stands at 280 feet tall. Designed by architect George Willis, the building features a unique reinforced concrete structure without steel girders. Named after Texas Revolution leader Benjamin Milam, it has a rich history of various tenants, including major corporations like Mobil and Exxon. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, showcasing its architectural significance and innovative air-conditioning system, which was a pioneering feature at the time of its construction.
