South Station

South Station, located at 700 Atlantic Avenue, opened in 1899 and serves as Boston's primary intercity and commuter rail terminal. It is the busiest transportation hub in New England, connecting Amtrak, MBTA commuter rail, bus services, and the Red Line subway. The station's headhouse and concourse have been renovated and expanded over time while continuing to function as a major gateway to the city.
