Carnell Estate

Carnell Estate is a historic mansion and expansive estate located near Hurlford in East Ayrshire, Scotland, approximately 25 miles from Glasgow. Dating back to 1276, the estate spans 2000 acres and features beautiful gardens, woodlands, and farms. The current house, built in 1843 by architect William Burn, showcases earlier architectural elements from the 15th century. The estate has been home to the Findlay family, descendants of the legendary William Wallace, and has undergone various renovations over the centuries. Notably, in August 2025, it hosted United States Vice President JD Vance during a private holiday, highlighting its appeal as a destination for visitors interested in history and heritage.
