Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign (1959)

The 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign was installed in 1959 at the south end of the Strip and was designed by sign artist Betty Willis. The roadside sign is an example of mid-century neon and roadside advertising infrastructure that promoted automobile-era tourism. It remains a frequently photographed historic landmark at its original location.
