Eleazer Hyde House

The Eleazer Hyde House, located at 401 Woodward Street in Newton, Massachusetts, is a historic timber-frame structure built around 1770. As one of the few remaining high style Late Georgian houses in the city, it showcases distinctive architectural features such as pilasters framing the entry and crown moulding above the lower windows. The house, originally constructed by Eleazer Hyde, Jr., has undergone two expansions in the 19th century while preserving its Georgian style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture.
