Mattapax

Mattapax is a historic house located near Stevensville in Queen Anne's County, Maryland, built around 1760. This 1+1⁄2-story Flemish bond brick structure features a pitched gable roof and distinctive flush brick chimneys. The property includes a frame cottage, a large horse barn, and a frame wagon shed, showcasing the architectural heritage of the area. In 1949, a restoration added a brick wing to the house. Mattapax was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
