Lok Bhavan, Puri

Lok Bhavan, formerly known as The Raj Bhavan of Puri, serves as the official summer residence of the Governor of Odisha. Located near the Bay of Bengal, this historic building was constructed between 1913 and 1914 as a retreat for British governors escaping the heat of Patna. After Odisha became a separate province in 1936, it transitioned to serve the state's governors until 1973. The residence underwent significant renovations to enhance its comfort and aesthetics, including garden creation and modern plumbing. Today, part of its grounds has been repurposed to promote tourism, making it an intriguing site for visitors interested in the region's colonial history and governance.
