Hornbækhus

Hornbækhus is a remarkable Neoclassical apartment building located in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. Completed in 1923 and designed by architect Kay Fisker, this impressive structure spans approximately 200 meters in length and houses 290 apartments. It exemplifies the large perimeter block style, known as 'storkarréer', which emerged in the 1920s to address the housing shortage in the city. The central garden, crafted by Gudmund Nyeland Brandt, adds to its charm. Recognized for its architectural significance, Hornbækhus was listed as a protected building in 1983, making it a noteworthy site for both tourists and researchers interested in urban development and architectural history.
