St. Alphonsus Hospital

St. Alphonsus Hospital, a historic French Renaissance style building in Boise, Idaho, was designed by architect J.K. Hollowell and completed in 1894. Initially opened under the supervision of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, it became a key healthcare facility in the region, treating over a hundred patients in its first year. The hospital was notable for its cozy wardroom and advanced facilities for the time. Despite its historical significance and being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, it faced demolition in the late 1970s due to safety concerns. Today, the hospital's legacy continues with the modern St. Alphonsus Hospital located nearby, providing essential healthcare services in Boise.
