Ivory Tower Building

The Ivory Tower Building, located at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, is a historic administrative structure completed in 1941. Designed in the British architectural style of the 20th century, it features distinct white walls, blue-shuttered windows, and a T-shape with a prominent clock tower. As a UNESCO Heritage site, it symbolizes national pride and serves as a major tourist attraction. The building houses important university records and archives. After a devastating fire in 2020, it underwent reconstruction funded by the Ugandan government and other contributors, preserving its iconic appearance while utilizing modern construction techniques.
