Japanese Tea Garden - former limestone quarry turned public garden

The Japanese Tea Garden in Brackenridge Park was developed in a former limestone quarry and features a large stone arch, carved-rock pathways, a pond with Koi, and a pavilion once known as the tea house. The garden has been maintained as a public park and horticultural attraction since the early 20th century and is a popular local spot for walks, weddings, and photography. Its distinctive rockwork and landscaping are a noted example of adaptive reuse of a quarry site in San Antonio.
