Gilbert Row

Gilbert Row, also known as Emery Row, is a historic group of rowhouses located in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Built in 1889 by Thomas Emery's Sons and designed by the Steinkamp Brothers, this complex showcases the unique Queen Anne architectural style, which is rare for rowhouses in the city. The row consists of six small houses and a commercial building, featuring distinctive design elements such as porches with hip roofs and ornamental brackets. Recognized for its historical significance, Gilbert Row was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is part of the Gilbert-Sinton Historic District. After a complete renovation from 2005 to 2006, the site was transformed into modern townhomes and condominiums, making it a fascinating blend of history and contemporary living for visitors and researchers alike.
