Project Row Houses - Third Ward community art and housing

Project Row Houses is a community-based art and cultural organization in Houston's Third Ward that began in 1993 when artists, led by Rick Lowe, rehabilitated a block of shotgun houses into art spaces and housing. The project now comprises a collection of restored houses and public art installations that host exhibitions, artist residencies, and community programs focused on neighborhood regeneration and cultural memory. It is widely cited as a pioneering model of artist-led community redevelopment.
