Marich Buildings, Fremantle

The Marich Buildings, located at the intersection of Henry and High streets in Fremantle, Western Australia, is a heritage-listed two-storey structure dating back to around 1897. Originally part of a site with various single-storey shops, it showcases architectural features from the gold boom era, including arched stucco architraves and a balustrade parapet. The building has historical significance, having been owned by the Brockman family for decades before being acquired by Nicholas Marich, a Yugoslav migrant and World War I veteran. The Marich Buildings are recognized for their heritage value, contributing to Fremantle's rich history as a port city, and are listed on several heritage registers, ensuring their preservation amidst modern development efforts.
