Santa Rosa Arch

The Santa Rosa Arch, also known as Bantayang Bato, is a historic monument located in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. Built between 1859 and 1860 and inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, it originally served as a guard tower for Spanish colonial authorities. The current structure was completed in 1925 and features Art Deco elements added during a renovation in 1931. Notable for its four lion sculptures symbolizing the guardianship of the city, the arch is a key landmark and serves as a gateway to Santa Rosa, earning the city the title 'Lion City of South Luzon.' Its intricate design includes a staircase, sunburst alcove, and a balcony, making it a significant cultural symbol and a central element of the city seal.
