McNay Art Museum - Texas's first modern art museum

The McNay Art Museum was founded from the collection and estate bequeathed by Marion Koogler McNay and opened to the public in 1954. It occupies a Spanish Colonial Revival mansion and surrounding grounds that were expanded with later modern additions. The museum is notable for its collection of 19th- and 20th-century European and American art as well as contemporary works and Latin American art.
