Clarion Alley Mural Project

Clarion Alley Mural Project (CAMP), active since the early 1990s, is a community-based mural collective that has organized the creation of dozens of murals along Clarion Alley in the Mission District addressing social, political and cultural themes. The alley’s murals are maintained and updated by artists working with CAMP and are internationally recognized as an example of community muralism tied to neighborhood activism. The project documents ongoing changes in the alley’s art and has been the subject of exhibitions and academic study.
