Houston Post-Dispatch Building

The Magnolia Hotel, formerly known as the Houston Post-Dispatch Building, is a historic 22-story skyscraper located at 609 Fannin in Houston, Texas. Built in 1926 by oil magnate Ross S. Sterling for the Houston Post newspaper, it was once one of the tallest buildings in the city, featuring visible printing presses and a rooftop antenna for a radio station. After undergoing significant facade alterations in the 1960s and 1970s, the building was restored to its original appearance and transformed into the Magnolia Hotel, which opened in 2003. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in Houston's architectural history.
