The Naked Cowboy in Times Square

Robert John Burck, known as the Naked Cowboy, has performed in Times Square since the late 1990s wearing underwear, boots and a cowboy hat while playing a guitar; his long-running appearances are frequently photographed and parodied online. He became a recognizable Times Square fixture and recurring subject of memes, media appearances and promotional events. Burck has trademarked the name "Naked Cowboy" and is often associated with the tourist plaza around the Times Square ball-drop building.
