Montebrier

Montebrier is a historic plantation house located in Brierfield, Alabama, built around 1853 in the Gothic Revival cottage orné style by S.W. Mahan. This charming 1+1⁄2-story frame structure features distinctive lightly arched porch supports and wide eaves, reflecting the architectural influence of Andrew Jackson Downing. Currently a private residence, Montebrier has been preserved within the Mahan family and was recognized for its historical significance by being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
