Varehuset Messen

Varehuset Messen, a historic department store located on Købmagergade in central Copenhagen, was established in 1895 and operated until 1971. Designed by architect Emil Blichfeldt, the building features a striking facade topped with a Hermes statue. The site has a rich history, originally comprising two smaller properties dating back to the 17th century, and has housed various notable residents, including the philosopher Søren Kierkegaard's family. Today, the building serves as a branch of Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring Copenhagen's architectural and cultural heritage.
