Red University Building

The Red University Building, located at 60 Volodymyrska Street in Kyiv, is the principal and oldest structure of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Constructed between 1837 and 1843 in a late Russian Classicism style by architect Vincent I. Beretti, this iconic 4-story building features a striking red facade with black column accents, symbolizing the Order of St. Vladimir. With a length of 145.68 meters, it forms a grand courtyard and has played a significant role in shaping Kyiv's architectural landscape. The building is not only a symbol of the university but also of the Ukrainian higher education system.
