Independence Hall - site of foundational national documents

Independence Hall is where the Second Continental Congress met and where the Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776; the building later hosted the Constitutional Convention of 1787 where the U.S. Constitution was debated and drafted. The site is part of Independence National Historical Park and is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is open for guided tours that interpret its political and civic history for visitors.
